MENDHAR, May 6: A youth was today arrested by police for committing rape on minor girl at village Galuta under Gursai Police Station.
The police registered a case FIR No. 28/ 2017 against the accused Zafeer Ahmed , son of Khan Mohd, resident of same village after the intervention of SDPO Mendhar Riaz Tantray today. Gursai police was allegedly exerting pressure on the parents of the girl to withdraw the case and go for compromise for the last two days.
Today they moved to SDPO, Mendhar who directed the SHO Gursai, Sanjay Gupta to register an FIR and arrest the accused. The police then raided a hideout and arrested the accused. The police was also looking into the role of a local woman Shehnaz Kouser to helped the youth to commit sexual assault on the 17-year old girl.
