Addressing the gathering, Raman Bhalla said that the youth of J&K are passing through one of the most difficult phases due to rising unemployment, lack of opportunities, increasing frustration and growing social insecurity. He alleged that educated youth are wandering from office to office in search of jobs while thousands of highly qualified young men and women continue to remain unemployed despite possessing degrees and technical qualifications. He said the BJP Government has failed to formulate a concrete employment policy for the youth of the Union Territory.
Bhalla said that even uneducated and semi-skilled youth are facing severe hardships as traditional sources of livelihood have weakened and inflation has made life miserable for common families. He stated that the dreams of youth are being crushed due to lack of recruitment drives, delay in examinations, paper leak incidents and absence of industrial growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Yogesh Sawhney said that the joining of prominent citizens and energetic youth into the Congress fold reflects the people’s growing trust in the ideology and vision of the party. He said that Congress has always stood with the poor, unemployed, labourers, traders and weaker sections of society, whereas the present regime has failed to address the genuine concerns of the common people.
