JAMMU, May 28: A 29-year-old youth alleged drowned in River Chenab in Khour area of Akhnoor.
According to a police official, the youth identified as Davinder Singh (29) son of Raghubir Singh, resident of Dhopur, tehsil Khour, had gone to take a bath in river Chenab where he was allegedly washed away by the river water.
He said that locals as well as SDRF teams searched for the youth but neither he nor his body was located and the search operation had to be suspended in the evening due to darkness. “Khour police had taken cognizance of the matter”, he added.
