KATHUA, July 14: A youth was killed after receiving an electric shock while planting paddy in his fields in village Kot Panu in Mareen tehsil of Kathua district today while a helper with a tralla was also killed after the vehicle turned turtle at Banorh, Mahanpur in Basoli tehsil of Kathua district.
According to reports Sham Lal, 22, son of Mohan Lal of village Kot Panu in Mareen tehsil of Kathua district had gone to his field along with his father for planting paddy today where he received an electric shock and died on spot. He was rushed to Sub District Hospital, Hiranagar where doctor declared him as brought dead. His MLC was conducted in Hiranagar Hospital.
In another case a helper with a Tralla which had brought 10,000 bricks from Punjab for sale in Kandi belt of Kathua district met an accident at Banorh Mahanpur resulting in the death of helper.
The deceased has been identified as Vijay Kumar, son of Girdhari Lal of Banorh. He was rushed to Sub District Hospital Basholi where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The local people protested against the accident and blocked the Dhar road for one and half hour.
A case in this regard has been registered at police Post Mahanpur under relevant sections of the law. The driver of the Tralla however fled after the accident.
