Youth among 4 die of COVID in Jammu, 2 in Kashmir; 547 test +ve

86 fresh cases in Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 10: Seven persons died of COVID-19 and 547 tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir while 86 new cases were recorded in the Union Territory of Ladakh today.
Four casualties and 307 cases were reported in Jammu division and two casualties and 240 cases were registered in Kashmir.
A 28-year-old youth hailing from village Dinga Amb in Kathua district died of co-morbidities and COVID-19 at PGI Chandigarh while 58-year-old man from Bohri Talab Tillo in Jammu succumbed to the virus and ailments at SKIMS Srinagar.
A 43-year-old man from Bahadurpur in Nandpur area and 61-year-old male from Santra Morh Akalpur in Jammu district died of Coronavirus and multiple ailments at Narayana Hospital in Katra.
Of four casualties in Jammu, three were fully vaccinated.
Among 307 fresh COVID positive cases in Jammu, 176 were reported from Jammu district, 39 in Ramban, 22 Doda, 17 Kathua, 13 Udhampur, 12 each in Samba and Kishtwar, nine Rajouri, four Poonch and three in Reasi district.
As against 307 positives, 662 persons today recovered from the pathogen bringing down number of active positive cases to 3288.
Jammu region’s Corona cases have gone up to 1,63,664. Among them, 1,58,056 have recovered from the virus while there were 2320 casualties.
The fatalities include 1222 in Jammu district, 248 Rajouri, 165 Kathua, 146 Udhampur, 144 Doda, 124 Samba, 109 Poonch, 69 Ramban, 48 Reasi and 45 in Kishtwar district.
Out of 3288 active positive cases, the maximum 1429 are in Jammu district, 827 in Doda, 218 Ramban, 194 Kathua, 151 Samba, 138 Poonch, 100 Reasi, 82 Rajouri, 76 Kishtwar and 73 in Udhampur district.
Meanwhile, 86 new cases were today reported in the Union Territory of Ladakh including 63 in Leh district and 23 in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 696 active positive cases—476 in Leh and 220 in Kargil district.
Corona count in Ladakh now stood at 27148. Of them, 26226 have been treated while there were 226 deaths—167 in Leh and 59 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 240 fresh cases of COVID-19 while three infected people succumbed.
Those who tested positive include 103 from Srinagar, 16 from Baramulla, 22 from Budgam, 17 from Pulwama, 28 from Kupwara, 11 from Anantnag, 15 from Bandipora, 19 from Ganderbal, 08 from Kulgam and 01 Shopian.
With fresh cases the number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 285,669 including 278,026 recoveries and 2,419 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 8,512 including 5,225 from Kashmir division.
With 2,258 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 436,082 which is 97.05 percent of the total cases.
