UDHAMPUR, Feb 8: A young woman committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at the house of her in-laws at Chenani.
A police spokesman said that Nish Devi (27), wife of Sandeep Kumar of Bacchal, Gouri Kund Chenani, consumed some poisonous substance at her residence. The family members rushed her to Sub District Hospital Chenani where she died.
After completion of all the formalities and postmortem, the body was handed over to the family for last rites. Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in another case, a youth attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his resident in village Kanha in Ramnagar. Identified as Shinda (22), son of Manju of village Kanha in Ramnagar Tehsil, he was shifted to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar where doctors referred him to District Hospital Udhampur in view of his serious condition.
