UDHAMPUR, Apr 15: A young girl was allegedly raped by an Auto driver under the jurisdiction of Ramnagar Police Station.
Acting swiftly, Police arrested the accused driver, who has been identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Sansar Chand, resident of Dheeran, Tehsil Ramnagar.
As per the written complaint lodged against him at Police Station Ramnagar, he allegedly raped 21-year old victim on April 13 13.04.2024 around 3 pm when she was on her way to home in his Auto. When the Auto reached at Khaira, driver Sunil Kumar caught hold her hand and forcibly pushed her into the forest area where he raped her.
Following a written complaint lodged in this regard at Police station Ramnagar by mother of the victim, case FIR Number 33/2024, Under Section 376 IPC was registered against Sunil Kumar.
SHO Ramnagar S D Singh immediately dispatched a Police team and arrested the accused while the victim girl was sent to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar for medical examination. Further investigation in the case is going on.
