UDHAMPUR, Aug 25: A young girl ended her life by consuming some poisonous substance while in two other separate incidents, a man and a young housewife attempted suicide.
According to the police report, Jyoti Devi alias Pooja (21), daughter of Vishan Dass of Battal Morh, Majalta, consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at her home. Family members rushed her to District Hospital Udhampur where she was referred to GMC Jammu in view of her serious condition. Despite hectic efforts by the doctors at GMC, she did not respond to the treatment and died.
Cause of resorting to extreme step could not be ascertained while Majalta Police has registered the case for investigation.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, one Mohan Lal (38), son of Thakur Dass of Bashat Chenani, consumed poison following which he was rushed to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu.
In another case, Pooja Devi (22), wife of Pawan Kumar of Thathi, consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances in the house of her in-laws. Family members shifted her to District Hospital Udhampur and her condition was stated to be stable.
Police has registered the case for investigation.
