NEW DELHI, May 2: A ‘yoga olympiad’ involving school children will be held as part of the International Day of Yoga this year.
In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, HRD minister Smriti Irani said the decision to hold the olympiad had been taken to promote Yoga among students.
She said that the Ministry of AYUSH has constituted a National Board for Promotion and Development of Yoga and Naturopathy.
In a written reply to another question related to school education, Irani said that online admission for Class I for the session 2016-17 has been processed successfully for the KVs of Delhi Region.
Replying to yet another question, Irani said that one of the issues being considered by the panel drafting the New Education Policy (NEP) relates to the theme of eradication of alcohol and drug abuse. (PTI)
