Yog Sansthan to hold massive Sammelan on Yoga Day

JAMMU, June 18: Bharatiya Yog Sansthan has made all arrangements for celebration of World Yoga Day on June 21 and in this regard a massive Yoga Sammelan will be held at Yog Sansthan’s J&K Headquarters Gole Gujral near Revenue Complex here.
This was stated by V K Singh secretary of the Sansthan while talking to reporters here today along with other office bearers of the Sansthan.
He said a massive Yog Sammelan will be held in the Sansthan Headquarers on June 21 from 5-45 pm to 8 pm in which Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh will be the chief guest while Minister of Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga will be the guest of honour. The function will also be attended by BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma.
He said Bharatiya Yog Sansthan is in the service of mankind since 1967 and it is performing Yoga since then. He said Yoga links man to soul which in turn gets linked to God after deep meditation and realization of soul.
He said in context with Prime Minister’s world Yog Divas the Sansthan has also decided to organize a Yog Sammelan at its headquarters Jammu in which a large number of people drawn from all walks of life will take part.
He said the Yog Sammelan will start with classical Bhakti Sangeet. The Yog is a way of life to relieve human body from ailments and helps it to lead a healthy life. He said yoga Acharya Mahavir Ji will be delivering lecture regarding benefits of Yog Asnas for the society on the day.
He made an appeal to people to attend the Yog Sammmelan in large numbers.
He also announced that the elections for the J&K Yog Sansthan were held under the chairmanship of Des Raj All India general secretary of the organization from Delhi and Satya Pal Sharma was elected as president J&K.
He said Vijay Kumar was elected as general secretary, Anil Kumar as organizing secretary, Puran Chand Sharma as vice president, Puran Chand as treasurer, Shashi Kant Barkulla, Mrs Sushma Gupta, Kishore Kumar, Dr Suresh Gupta, Sat Kumar Raina and Arun Pachnanda as members.
