YNC organises convention

SRINAGAR, Feb 28: Provincial president of Youth National Conference Salman Ali Sagar has said that youth of the State are the flag bearers of the party’s mission to restore the honour and dignity of the State and protect it from those forces that sell their slogans and vision-documents to the highest bidders.
Addressing a youth convention at Zainageer in Sopore today,  Salman Sagar said that National Conference under the young and dynamic leadership of  Omar Abdullah was empowering the State’s youth to take the lead in reclaiming the State’s bartered sense of dignity and ushering it into a corrective era of strong leadership and good governance.
Lashing out at the PDP-BJP alliance,  Sagar said that the continued political stalemate in the State has discredited both parties and exposed their hollow rhetoric and slogans.  “PDP sold every single political slogan and demand just to come to power in an unholy alliance with the BJP. Today, they are enacting an elaborate drama to fool the people of the State into believing that Mehbooba Mufti is concerned about the State’s interests. If  she was concerned about the political and economic interests of the State and its people, why did she appear to be such a vocal votary of the PDP-BJP alliance for the ten month tenure of the previous Government? This is pure gimmickry to mislead the youth”,  Sagar said.
The YNC provincial president said the party’s recently concluded membership drive has seen an unprecedented registration by youth and that this was an indication of a groundswell of support for the party’s mission of reclaiming the State’s bartered honour. “Thousands of new youth members have registered with the party in the recently concluded membership drive and the party is committed to empowering them based on their merit and hard work. Our leader Omar Abdullah has a pro-youth vision that centers on their economic and political empowerment and together it is our responsibility to defeat those who brought disgrace and hopelessness upon our State by aligning with those who swear vengeance against our political rights and political status”,  he added.
Senior party leader  Mohd Ashraf Ganai, YNC North Zone In-charge Jehangir Wani, YNC Distt president Baramulla  Muneer Ahmed and  YNC  district vice president Baramulla  Neelofar Mushtaq Wani  also addressed the  convention.
