JAMMU, July 10: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS), held a protest demonstration here, today against the mob attack on migrant camps at Haal Pulwama, Vessu and Mattan in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.
The protesters while expressing their grave concern over the pelting of stones on camps and demanded immediate security for the migrant employees. The protest was led by YAIKS president R K Bhat. The protesters while raising slogans against the anti social and anti national elements who are hell bent in disturbing the communal harmony in Kashmir. They said it is the responsibility of majority community to protect the rights of the minority community.
They said the present scenario and disturbances in Kashmir Valley pose a new challenge for the minorities in general and PM package employees who are serving in Valley for the national interests. They said that the Kashmiri Pandit employees who volunteered themselves to serve in Valley are totally sacred of the present happening in Valley as their lives are in great danger.
R K Bhat demanded resolution of migrants’ problems once for all as it is totally impossible for package employees to lead a life like human beings in Valley. He took the authorities to task for their failure in making proper security arrangements for these employees. He said, how long time it will take to Government of India to formulate the policy which can ensure safety and security to minority Pandits in Valley.
Bhat said that the safety and security of migrants is the prime concern of the YAIKS. He said the Government has to awake from deep slumber and ensure the security and safety of the migrants and in case the Government fails in this regard it will be a signal to the community that the Government was deliberately not interested in the welfare of the community.
