JAMMU, Oct 12: The activists of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) led by its president R K Bhat today staged a demonstration in front of Press Club demanding a CBI probe into the mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar wife of former Union Minister and Congress leader Shashi Taroor.
With placards in their hands, the protestors were raising slogans in support of their demand. They said that they suspect a foul play in her death as a new twist was given to her demise. They said that earlier it was stated that the cause of her death was over doze of medicine and now it is said that she died of poisoning.
Alleging that the reasons for her death are totally unnatural, the protestors said that they smell a rat in the same as her brain, kidney, liver and lungs were functioning normally and she was not suffering from any kind of ailment.
YAIKS activists said that they refuse to accept that she might have committed suicide as she was a very brave woman and a self made person. She had faced many hardships in her life but always fought back for her survival. Her mysterious demise has sent shock waves all around.
Accusing the police of conducting a shady investigation, the protestors said many doubts have been created in their minds and demanded justice for the member of their community who has become a victim. They said that only a through probe by CBI will satisfy them and they will not budge an inch from this demand.
They warned that in case the Government fails to conduct the CBI probe the YAIKS will intensify the agitation.
