WTLEA demands regularization staff

JAMMU, Sept 20: Water Testing Laboratories Employees Association (WTLEA), Jal Shakti (PHE) today demanded early regularization of the all Water Testing Laboratory staff of J&K.
The issue came up for discussion during a meeting of the Association held here today under the presidentship of Yashbir Singh. The speakers decided to extend full support to Tanveer Hussain, J&K president (JKCLUF) in Kashmir Chalo Movement.
The meeting appealed J&K LG Manoj Sinha to frame regularization policy for all laboratory staff in Jal Shakti (PHE) Department as soon as possible.
The speakers alleged shortage of staff in water testing laboratories. They said as per drinking water protocol, each water-testing laboratory must have the manpower of 8 but most of the labs in Jammu province have been working with 2 or 3 people. They appealed the LG to resolve the issue at the earliest.
The LG was also appealed to make the State level water testing laboratory functional as soon as possible so that all other labs can function under a single head called Chief Chemist as per Uniform Drinking Water Protocol 2020.
Others spoke on the occasion were Ramesh Kumar, Ashish, Abdul Guffar, Rahul Verma, Amit Bandral and Anuti Mahajan.
