JAMMU, May 12: West Pakistani Refugees leader Labba Ram Gandhi has voiced deep concern over Army authorities’ decision to ignore West Pakistan Refugees youths from participating in Army recruitment rally at Akhnoor.
In a statement, Mr Gandhi said instead of mitigating sufferings of the West Pakistani refugees, the present Government was compounding them.
Regretting the Army decision, he said earlier the Army used to hold recruitment without taking the state subject into consideration but now they were not allowing the West Pakistani refugees to take part in the recruitment rally.
“This is happening at a time when the Defence Minister belonged to the BJP, which had during the election campaign promised to address all issues of West Pakistani refugees,” he said.
He called upon the Central Government to pass on directions to the Army authorities to allow the youths of West Pakistani refugees to take part in the recruitment rally.
