World Orthodontic Health Day celebrated

JAMMU, May 15: World Orthodontic Health Day was celebrated today virtually in Department of Orthodontics, Indira Gandhi Government Dental College here.
Students, interns and junior residents participated in this online event and contributed by making public awareness posters, animations, essays and digital posters for creating awareness of orthodontic specialty and to enlighten everyone about benefits of orthodontic treatment.
This day is celebrated by Orthodontic Associations around the world to highlight the benefit of straight teeth in overall wellbeing of a person.
The event was judged by Dr. Akshay Gupta, HOD Orthodontics; Dr. Rubeena Anjum, HOD Oral Pathology and Dr. Azhar Malik, HOD Conservative Dentistry.
Dr. Akshay Gupta said this day is celebrated to create awareness of Orthodontics among all.
He also said that this was the 5th annual World Orthodontic Health Day and it was fourth consecutive year of celebrations/creating awareness in department of Orthodontics, at Indira Gandhi Government Dental College Jammu and 2nd online event amid lockdown.
College Principal, Dr. Rakesh Gupta said the contribution of budding dentists will go a long way in creating awareness about this specialty among everyone.
