SHOPIAN: A day-long workshop was organized by Municipal Committee Shopian in collaboration with NGO here today. During the workshop, the experts opined that improper solid waste management was taking a heavy toll on fragile eco-system in the district.
The experts also pitched for use of latest methods for effective solid waste management in the district.
District Development Commissioner Shopian Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that authorities must sensitize the general public about the importance of implementation of solid waste management rules. He lauded the efforts of Municipal Committee for organizing such events.
