POONCH, June 17: A Delhi based non-profit organization, Charkha conducted a three day writing skills development workshop for rural reporting in Poonch with focus on development issues – especially those relevant to the empowerment of youth and women.
The workshop was there from June 14 to 16 and was conducted by Mario Noronha, CEO of Charkha along with resource persons like Shams Tamanna, Consulting Editor, Charkha; Nazam Mir, President of National Peace and Development Voice, NGO and Ajazul Haq Bukhari from Mohibul Garibeen Trust, NGO.
During the workshop participants identifying various development issues that needed to be addressed in the district.
Youth from different blocks and villages of Poonch participated in the workshop and were taught the basics of journalism.
They were also given a brief account about various Government schemes.
The workshop was there to make each participant would able to write a feature focusing a particular development issue.
Participants were also shown how to use their mobile phones to take excellent photographs which could be used in their articles and they were also shown some award winning short films.
