JAMMU, Feb 15: The 2-day workshop on Dogra Wall Paintings, organized by Centre for History and Culture of Jammu and Ladakh Region in collaboration with Government Degree College (Boys) Udhampur concluded at RZP Art Gallery, University of Jammu, here today.
SM Sahni, Convener ‘Intach’ Jammu Chapter was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address he outlined the activities of ‘Intach’ and concept of young ‘Intach’. He also urged the heritage volunteers to identify their area of interest and collaborate with ‘Intach’ to work on the conservation of the rich heritage of the State.
An interactive session on the Role of Youth in Heritage Conservation was also organized on the occasion.
Prof Anita Billoria delivered talk on wall paintings.
Earlier, the heritage club volunteers of Govt Degree College visited the wall painting sites of Jammu including Radha Krishna Mandir, Panjtirathi, Mubarak Mandi Complex, and Rinchen Bzangpo Art Gallery University of Jammu.
Dr Sanjay Sharma, Dr Sonia Jasrotia, Kirpal Singh and the members of the Heritage Club of GDC Udhampur, teachers and volunteers from GDC Udhampur, Shivalik College of Udhampur, GCW Parade, GDC Akhnoor, GCW Gandhi Nagar and GDC Kathua also participated in the Workshop.
