UDHAMPUR, Apr 18: A one-day workshop on “Investigation of Cyber Crime” was conducted today at Sher- e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur.
The workshop was attended by 62 Probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police undergoing Basic Induction Course, along with 10 Police officers/officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The workshop aimed to enhance the capabilities of the attending Probationary Officers and investigating officers/officials of the J&K Police.
Renowned cyber expert Gurucharan Singh from CDTI Chandigarh was specially invited to lead the workshop. The sessions encompassed extensive discussions, practical demonstrations and deliberations covering various cybercrime types, analysis of CDRs/IPDRs, IP Address tracking, Mobile Forensics, Email Tracing, as well as the collection and preservation of electronic data and Hashing techniques.
The workshop was inaugurated by SSP Rajinder Kumar Gupta (Deputy Director, SKPA). In his address, Gupta underscored the significance of staying abreast of modern techniques in handling cybercrimes, particularly for first responders who play a crucial role in responding effectively to reported cybercrimes.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the visiting faculty was honoured with a memento by the Deputy Director as a gesture of appreciation for their insightful and informative lectures.
The coordination of the workshop was overseen by Rakesh Sambyal, Chief Prosecuting Officer SKPA, with the participation of SKPA staff members.
