SRINAGAR, Oct 26: Secretary to Government, Department of Rural Development and PR, Sheetal Nanda inaugurated a day-long training workshop on the implementation of Local Government Directory (LGD) and other inline software at Lal Mandi here.
The workshop was attended by Director Rural Development Kashmir, Qazi Sarwar; Director Panchayati Raj (PR), Sheikh Nazir Ahmed, District Panchayat Officers and others.
The LGD is one of the applications developed by the Ministry of Rural Development as part of Panchayat Enterprise Suite (PES) under e-Panchayat Mission Mode project. The PES consists of 11 software applications such as LGD, Plan Plan, Action Soft, mAction Soft etc.
It is pertinent to mention here that Ministry of Panchayati Raj has undertaken e-Panchayat, a Mission Mode Projects under Digital India Programme that seeks to completely transform the functioning of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
