Women serve 45 days ultimatum for closure, shifting of wine shop

JAMMU, July 6: Continuing their protest, the women hailing from Arnia and adjoining areas served 45 days ultimatum to administration for closure or shifting of wine shop.
Amid slogans, large number of ladies assembled outside wine shop at Arnia and continued their protest.
The protesting ladies alleged that due to this wine shop, their families are getting affected badly.
They also cited several examples regarding evil effects of liquor menace and hinted that being hilly State, many people have lost their lives due to liquor intake.
After getting information, Tehsildar Arnia Gurpreet Singh along with police team led by SHO Arnia Inspector Satish Kumar rushed to the spot and assured the protesting ladies of appropriate action towards their demand of closure or shifting of wine shop from their vicinity.
During negotiation, the protesting ladies served 45 days ultimatum to administration for closure or shifting of the wine shop, failing which they will resume their protest. They also asked the wine shop owner to shift the shop to some other place, otherwise he will be responsible for any untoward incident.
