Youth arrested for allegedly chatting in Pak on social media

JAMMU, July 6: A youth has been arrested for allegedly chatting and sharing vital information on social site Whatsapp with someone in Pakistan from Akhnoor area, here today.
“Acting on tip off and keeping surveillance for days, a raid was conducted in village Sungal Palouri of tehsil Akhnoor and four youth were detained”, police sources said, adding that during investigation, it was found that one of the detained youth identified as Ravinder Singh, son of Amar Singh, resident of village Sungal Palouri was allegedly sharing some vital information with unknown person across the border through Whatsapp.
“A fake ID on the name of a lady was created by a person from Pakistan and the arrested youth fell in honey trap and started chatting on Facebook. Later, the arrested person started chatting on Whatsapp with the same person and allegedly shared some vital information”, police sources said.
“The arrested youth was chatting for the last 3 to 4 months”, they said adding that other three were released as they were not found involved into an offence.
A case under FIR Number 132/17 has been registered against the arrested youth at Akhnoor police station and started investigation to ascertain whether the sharing of information on social media was intentional or unintentional.
