JAMMU, Sept 23: RSS National Executive member and senior leader, Bhaiyya Ji Joshi, said women have taken lead in many unfamiliar fields and this growth and taking up of diverse fields of growth by women will no doubt ensure the glory of the country and society.
He was addressing a programme on the role of women in the development of the nation organised by Sampark Vibhag of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) at Gulshan Ground auditorium, here.
The programme was chaired by Nirmal Sharma IAS (Retd) in which Bhaiyya Ji Joshi was the main speaker. Gautam Mengi Prant Sanghchalak shared the dais with Nirmal Sharma.
Bhaiyya Ji Joshi said women are taking lead in every sector may it be economy defence education and spirituality. Women have become Mahamandleshwars. He surmised that women have specific qualities which are unique like maternal instinct and compassion which we have to utilize.
Stressing on following the cultural and traditional values in the society, the RSS leader said acceptance by law does not mean acceptance of society. “Our society is governed by such values where even a king was made to follow the maxim that till the time you follow dharma you remain the King but if you go the path of adharma you lose the right to rule’’. Even PM Narendra Modi insists upon saying that he is just a Pradhan Sewak, he added.
He said that the first war of independence brought a realisation that it is not the soldiers alone who fought the enemy but every individual irrespective of his stature and status in society raised the slogan of Vande Matram against the oppressors. He said that the ordinary people had rallied around Maharana Pratap and Shivaji Maharaj to free this country from occupation.
He said common people of society took up the cause of the nation and it was not the intellectuals and soldiers alone who fought off the occupying forces. He said several things in our society got twisted due to British or Macaulay system of education and now we are seeing several new institutions of society where new systems in line with our beliefs and thoughts are being resurrected and instituted. It is not that the industry based education system has not played an important role in prosperity of our society but our education should not only make us knowledgeable but it should also make us good human beings.
He further said that another field for growth of a good society is the culture and art. “We have to see whether our entertainment industry is directing our youth towards social distortions or societal growth and harmony’’.
He said that whether it is the field of education or business or art and culture or spiritual growth we have to ensure that these fields work toward ensuring individual enlightenment.
Nirmal Sharma delivered the welcome address. In her speech she said that women have played an important part in the growth of the nation from ancient Indian society but during the foreign occupation of the nation the role of women were suppressed but even then women played a crucial role in freeing of nation from foreign oppressors. After independence women have played an important role in growth of society in varied fields from sports to industry to other fields like defence where women have even become pilots in the defence forces.
