JAMMU, Dec 16: A 28-years old housewife who tried to end her life on December 2, 2014 by setting herself afire at her residence in Mawa in Samba district, today succumbed to her burn injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.
According to a police spokesperson, the woman identified as Renu Devi wife of Balkar Singh, a resident of Mawa in Samba, on 2nd of this month tried to commit suicide by setting herself afire after pouring kerosene oil on her body.
In the incident, the woman had got 100 % burn injuries following which she was shifted to GMCH Jammu on the same day, but she failed to recover and succumbs to her injuries in the hospital, this morning.
The concerned police has already taken cognizance of the matter.
