JAMMU, Oct 22: A fire victim woman admitted in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu since October 18, 2014, today succumbed to her injuries.
According to a police spokesperson, the woman identified as Jyoti Devi, wife of Jaswant Singh and resident of Bappar, Khour, Teshil Akhnoor was shifted to GMCH, Jammu after she was set to fire by her husband following a quarrel between them. In the incident, Jyoti Devi received 98 % burn injuries and after battling with life for four days in the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries this evening.
The body of the woman has been shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem.
A case under relevant sections already stands registered at police station Khour, and the accused husband was arrested the very next day of the incident on the complaint of victim’s parents.
However, the concerned police has further taken cognizance of the matter after the death of the accused.
