KATRA, Mar 27: A Women pilgrim was crushed to death and her family members was critically injured by a moving passenger bus at Katra Bus Stand , here this morning.
The victims belonged to Uttar Pradesh and had arrived here for paying obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. The incident took place around 11 am when a moving bus, bearing registration number JK02F-0163 hit the duo. They were rushed to Katra hospital where doctors declared one of them as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Babita Vishkarama (44), wife of Narinder Kumar of Matkalipur, Ajamgarh (UP).
The injured, identified as Sarita Vishkarama (24), wife of Manoj Vishkarama of Matkalipur, Aajamgarh (UP), was referred to GMC Hospital in view of her serious condition.
Police has arrested driver of the bus and registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, another devotee from Rajasthan died due to massive heart attack while on way back from Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. He was identified as Jatinder Kumar (30), son of Kali Charan of Rajasthan. He suffered massive heart attack near Bhairon Ghati and was declared dead at the hospital.
