Woman murdered in Parliwand; husband, another suspect detained

KATHUA, Mar 9: A 55-year-old woman was found murdered inside her house in Ward No 14, here, today, police said. Her body was found in a pool of blood in her room and all house hold items were ransacked.

Bholi Devi was living alone at the house in Parliwand village following a dispute with her husband Madan Gopal, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kathua, Ramnish Gupta said.
Gupta, who led a police party to recover the body, said the initial investigation and the inspection of the crime scene suggested a theft attempt as the motive behind the murder.
“We received an information from a relative of the deceased that she is not responding to the phone calls and rushed to the house where she was found murdered,” the officer said, adding police are looking into different angles to crack this case.
The body was sent for post-mortem and the woman’s husband and another suspect has been picked up for questioning, the additional SP said. However he did not disclose the name of the suspect saying it will hamper the investigation.
He said a case has been registered and further investigation is on to arrest those behind the killing.
A forensic team was also called on the crime spot to collect some samples for investigation, police said.
The body was shifted to hospital for postmortem. The relatives of deceased have also doubt on her husband as both husband wife had no good relations and a case was under consideration in the Court of law. The husband Madan Gopal who was living in Jammu separately also reached on the spot. But he was immediately detained by police for questioning. After the postmortem the body was handed over to relatives for last rites.
