JAMMU, Mar 9: Ridiculing National Conference (BJP) president, Dr Farooq Abdullah’s fake concern over identity of Jammu province, former Minister and senior BJP leader, Bali Bhagat today reminded that since 1947 Kashmir centric parties were brazenly indulged in demonizing culture and identities of various regions and sub-regions of Jammu province.
“Only Kashmir centric parties are solely responsible for crises the Jammu region has been facing today. To appease radical and anti-national groups active in Kashmir Valley, Kashmir centric parties-be it NC, PDP or Congress, treated Jammu as their colony”, he regretted and added that it was only after historical decision taken on August 5, 2019, dignity and honour of the people of Jammu was restored.
“There is no taker of your statements in Jammu because people have seen your real face when your party was in power”, Bali advised former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, adding, “It is an open secret and historical fact that it was during your regime that terrorism engulfed the erstwhile State of J&K”.
He reminded Dr Farooq Abdullah that it was during his regime that selective massacres of members of minority community were started in different parts of J&K because your party was hand in glove with terrorists.
Mocking Dr Abdullah for hailing last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh for introducing State Subject in J&K, Bhagat reminded NC president that his party had opposed holiday on the birth anniversary of visionary Dogra ruler.
He reminded Dr Abdullah that his party demonized Dogra rulers for decades together as ‘oppressor’ and ‘autocrat’ just to appease separatists and anti-national elements.
“State Subject laws introduced by Maharaja Hari Singh were entirely different from Article 370 and Article 35-A. Laws introduced by Maharaja had provisions to grant citizenship to outsiders after a fixed time but the same was not in Article 35-A”, he said.
He said that the so called alliance ‘People’s Alliance for the Gupkar Declaration (PAGD)’ framed by some mainstream regional political parties of Jammu and Kashmir had severely rejected by none other than the people of Valley which has itself been proved in the recently conducted District Development Council elections.
“The people of Valley have voted against the PAGD in DDC polls and endorsed the decision of Union Government headed by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Out of 9 Lakh voters in the Valley, more than five lakhs people voted against the PAGD which clearly shows that the people are fed up with the Pak sponsored terrorism and have supported the decision taken by the Union Government. ,” Bhagat said.
