POONCH, July 26: A woman was killed while three other persons were injured when a Tata Sumo vehicle met with an accident on Sathra -Gali Pindi Road in Mandi Sub Division of district Ponnch today.
Official sources said that mishap took place at around 9.30 am when the Sumo vehicle bearing Registration Number JK-12/ 9622 was on way to Mandi town from Gali Pindi village near the Line of Control. As the vehicle reached near Poorpur hamlet, the driver lost control over the vehicle and it fell into a gorge.
While a woman was killed on the spot, three other passengers sustained injuries. The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Maniza Bi, wife of Jamal Din, resident of Gali Pindi village.
The injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Mandi by SHO Mandi, Tilak Raj along with his team men. Two injured were later referred to District Hospital, Poonch. Body of the deceased was handed over to the family for last rites after conducting post mortem and performing legal formalities by police.
