JAMMU, Dec 19: A woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her rental residence in Nanak Nagar area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the woman identified as Renu Yadav (24) wife of Mainker Yadav, a resident of UP and at present residing in Nanak Nagar area falling under the limits of police station Gandhi Nagar, was found hanging last night in her rental room in Nanak Nagar.
In unconscious condition, she was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased woman is lying in mortuary room of the hospital and will be handed over to her legal heirs after conducting postmortem, which will be done as soon as the parents of the woman reach Jammu.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and further investigations are underway.
