Woman from PoK dies in Mendhar

POONCH, June 30:  An elderly woman, hailing from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) died of heart attack in the house of her relatives in Mendhar area this morning.
The deceased was identified as 74 year-old Kalsoom Bi, wife of Rehmat Ullah, resident of Dangrote, in Kotli (PoK).  She had came to meet her real brother, Mohd Sadiq ( Retd ZEO), son of Imam Din, resident of Dharana village in Mendhar on June 25, 2018.

Last evening, she went to a marriage function in the house of her cousin (son of maternal uncle), Zafar Iqbal at Chhajalla village in Mankote area.  Today morning,  at around 10.25 am, she complained of  some chest pain and turned unconscious within minutes. She was rushed to Sub District hospital, Mendhar where she was declared as brought dead.
The entire marriage function was turned into mourning. The matter was informed to police. The SDM Mendhar also came to know about the matter. The police performed all the legal formalities and then  handed over body to the relatives.
The District Administration Poonch, took up the matter with the authorities in Kotli (PoK) and then at around 2.30 pm the body was handed over to Pak authorities at Chakkan-Da- Bagh by the Indian officials led by a Magistrate and relatives. She had to return to her home in Kotli after spending two weeks. The relatives said that she was in good health when arrived here and was very happy to see all the relatives and was attending marriage along with other women. She was extremely happy for the last couple of days.
