UDHAMPUR, June 26: As young housewife ended her life by consuming some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at the house of her in-laws in village Manwal, Tehsil Majalta, parents of the deceased alleged that their daughter was murdered.
According to the police, Sunita Devi (26), wife of Sohan Lal, resident of Manwal, consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at her house late last night. Family members took her to District Hospital Udhampur where she died during treatment.
The parents and paternal family members alleged that the woman had not committed suicide but she was murdered by the in-laws. They have demanded a fair and high level investigation into the case.
Later, the body was sent for postmortem and police after completion of all the legal formalities, handed over the body to family members for the last rites. Inquest proceedings under section 174 IPC were initiated in this regard by Manwal police.
