Dr Bhat elected president of Temple Committee

JAMMU, June 26: Dr Ramesh Kumar Bhat a scholar and social activist was today elected as president of Temples and Shrine Prabandak Committee Tral, Awantipur in a keenly contested election. He defeated Jawahir Lal Pandita.
Subash Bhat was elected unopposed as vice president and Sunil Kumar Bhat as general secretary. Bharat Indu was elected as treasurer. Dr Ramesh got 72 votes while his rival got 62 votes
Later addressing the media Dr Ramesh appealed the Government to take immediate steps and release funds for development of all ancient shrines in Tral Awantipora including the famous Navdal Shrine and spring which is linked back to Purnaic period and holy Amarnath cave.
