JAMMU, Feb 14: A woman died late last night due to fall from a four-storey residential building at Satwari Cantonment, Jammu.
“The deceased woman was identified as Radha Jana (39) wife of Jaya Shankar, resident of West Bengal (at present Army Quarters, Satwari Cantonment, Jammu),” police sources said. They said on preliminary inquiry, it came to fore that she died due to fall from roof of the four-storey building in which she was living with her family.
However, sources said, it is a matter of investigation whether it was an accident, suicide or something else. They said after conducting postmortem at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
In this connection, Satwari police had initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC.
