JAMMU, May 30: A woman, who was seriously injured in a mysterious fire at her residence in Top Sherkhanian area of city outskirts, today succumbed to her injuries in Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
The woman has been identified as Usha Devi (45) wife of Rampal Khajuria. She had received about 80% injuries in the fire that broke out at her residence of May 26. Since then she was battling for life at GMCH Jammu where she expired today.
After registering a case in this connection, the Sarwal police has initiated inquest proceeding. The body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old youth was injured when the bike (having registration No (JK02S-7752) he was riding on was hit by a car bearing registration No JK06-4647 near JK Medicity, Channi Rama. The injured youth identified as Surinder Singh son of Kapoor Singh of Subhash Nagar was rushed to GMCH, where after providing first aid, he was discharged.
The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
