Woman dies, no new cases in 4 Jammu distts

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, July 26: A woman died of COVID-19 while 20 persons tested positive in Jammu region and 82 fresh infections were reported in Kashmir and four in the Union Territory of Ladakh today.
In a healthy sign, four hailing of Jammu region didn’t report any fresh cases today.
A 79-year-old woman hailing from Patnazi in Kishtwar district died of co-morbidities and COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
This has taken Corona toll in Jammu region to 2139 and Kishtwar to 44.
Reasi, Ramban, Samba and Kathua districts didn’t report any fresh COVID positive cases today.
In other districts, seven positives were reported in Rajouri, four Jammu, three each in Udhampur and Doda, two Kishtwar and one in Poonch.
As against 20 new cases, 56 persons recovered from the virus.
Jammu region now has 1,21,492 Corona cases. However, among them, only 446 are active positives while 1,18,907 persons have recovered from the virus and there have been 2139 casualties.
In the Union Territory of Ladakh, four fresh cases were reported today including three in Leh and one in Kargil.
Ladakh’s Corona count now stood at 20300. However, there are only 67 active positive cases as 20026 infected persons have been treated and there were 207 fatalities—149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 82 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 47 from Srinagar, 13 from Baramulla, 3 from Budgam, 06 from Pulwama, 4 from Kupwara, 1 from Anantnag, 1 from Bandipora, 3 from Ganderbal, 3 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 71,234 positive cases including 832 deaths and 70,038 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,549 including 282 deaths and 23,202 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,847 including 22,588 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Budgam, 15,151 including 14,895 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,041 including 165 deaths and 13,833 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,309 including 16,059 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,461 cases including 9,327 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,859 including 9,725 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,235 including 11,099 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,581 including 5,511 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
With fresh cases the number of active cases in J&K is now 1200.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 199,267 including 196,277 recoveries and 2,236 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,200 including 754 from Kashmir division. With 189 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 315,184, which is 98.27 percent of the total cases.
