MENDHAR, Sept 14: An elderly woman died here today under mysterious circumstances while estranged son of the deceased alleged that his mother was poisoned to death by his father, here today.
The deceased was identified as Maniza Bi (55), wife of Khalil Hussain Shah of Sheikh Maidan Mohalla in Mendhar. She fell unconscious this morning and died soon after her admission in the hospital.
According to Police, estranged son of the deceased, who had left his parents and was living with his in-laws for the last several years, has claimed that his mother was given poison by his father. ” On the eve of Eid, I had sent some dates to mother who accepted the same and this apparently angered my father,” the son told the Police.
Meanwhile, Police has registered a case in this connection, under Section 176 of RPC, for further investigation.
