Woman dies, 77 test +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Jan 27: One person died of COVID-19 while 77 tested positive and 129 others recovered in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lone Corona casualty in J&K was reported from Budibugh Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district where a 60-year-old woman died of the virus.
Only 18 COVID positive cases were reported in Jammu region today, 16 of them in Jammu district and one each in Udhampur and Kathua districts. Rest seven districts didn’t report any fresh case today.
Fifty five persons recovered from the virus in the region including 48 in Jammu district, five Samba and two in Udhampur. No recoveries were reported from the remaining districts.
Jammu region now has 51487 Corona cases. Among them, only 377 are active positives as 50391 have recovered from the virus and there have been 719 casualties.
Among 719 casualties in the region, maximum 370 have been reported from Jammu district followed by 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 51 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
With one fresh death in Kashmir, Srinagar district with 454 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 174, Budgam 117, Kupwara 95, Pulwama 88, Anantnag 84, Bandipora 61, Kulgam 54, Ganderbal 46 and Shopian 39.
And in Kashmir, 59 people tested positive today taking the number of positive cases to 1,24, 234.
Those who tested positive include 23 from Srinagar, 8 Baramulla, 4 Budgam, 6 Pulwama, one Kupwara, 6 Anantnag, 7 Ganderbal, 2 Kulgam and 2 from Shopian.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 72,747 including 70,862 recoveries and 1,212 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,050 including 673 from Kashmir division.
With 129 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 1,21,124, which is 97.52 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, no fresh Corona cases were reported from the UT of Ladakh today.
Ladakh now have only 48 active positive cases.
