DODA, Apr 14: A woman from Nandana village of Thathri area delivered a baby in 108 dial ambulance.
The 108 dial ambulance was launched by the District Administration Doda under Bharti Vilas Group as free service for the people.
The purpose of this ambulance service is to ensure the delivery of public healthcare services to the patients at their door steps.
Today, a patient residing in Thathri block had acute labour pain, enroute hospital. The attendants of the patient called the ambulance officials for service at 108 and the patient was later shifted to CHC Thathri with the help of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) officials.
After checkup, the pregnant woman was referred to District Hospital Doda, but the woman delivered the baby in the ambulance. The EMT officials, who conducted the successful delivery, were Danish Raja and Tehseen Ahmed.
BMO Thathri Dr SL Manhas said that that woman delivered the baby in the 108 dial ambulance. The woman and her child are healthy, he said, adding that this was the first delivery case in 108 dial ambulance since its launch by the District Administration under the supervision of Lieutenant Governor J&K GC Murmu.
