JAMMU, Sept 5: A young woman allegedly committed suicide today by consuming some poisonous substance in Sainik Colony area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the woman was identified as Alka (27) wife of Samson, resident of Sainik Colony. He said the woman allegedly consumed some poisonous substance in the wee hours of today following which she was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu by the family members.
“She was admitted in the hospital at about 4 AM but during treatment she expired at about 1:25 PM. After conducting postmortem, the body of the woman was handed over to her legal heirs while the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter”, the official added.
