JAMMU, Apr 22: A married woman today lodged a complaint of rape against her ‘devar’ and another person of Panchairi, who had solemnized her marriage with a mentally challenged youth at Jandrah under the jurisdiction of Jhajjar Kotli police station.
The woman, originally a resident of Panchairi in Udhampur district, had been married at Jandrah about four years back.
On getting a complaint from the woman that her ‘devar’ Gopal Dass and a Panchairi resident Kuldeep Singh had raped her, SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station Inspector Pervez Sajjad has started investigations.
The woman was taken for medical examination.
Police said statement of the woman and other persons would be recorded before proceeding further.
