Will Young splits from his record label after just one album

LONDON, Aug 5:  “Pop Idol” winner Will Young has reportedly been dropped by his label Island Records.
Despite achieving his fourth straight chart-topping record with the album last year, Young has now been axed after four years and one album with the label, reported Digital Spy.
The singer’s representative released a statement through the paper confirming Will Young and Island Records have parted ways.
“Will’s deal with Island Records came to a natural end following the release of his sixth studio album, and fourth #1 album last year. Both parties mutually decided to part ways,” it read.
Young’s next project is his upcoming Summer Covers EP, released through Pledge Music, which is set to drop on August 26 and will feature covers of songs by the likes of Joni Mitchell and The Buzzcocks. (PTI)
