Will take up issues of blinds with Govt: Mayor

JAMMU, Dec 7: Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta today said that he will take up issues and problems of the blind population of the State with the Government.
He was speaking during a function on “World Disabled Day” held at Blind School, Roop Nagar Jammu where office bearers of J&K Chapter of National Federation of Blind discussed the issues of the blind people of the State with him.
The function was also attended by Shamsher Singh Manhas, Member of Parliament, Raja Sabha, Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor, JMC, Sunaina Sharma, Secretary, JMC and Sandhaya Gupta, Chairperson, Women’s Club.
Later, the Mayor visited Municipal Animal Care Centre at Roop Nagar and took stock of the working of the Centre. He instructed Dr Jaffar Iqbal, Municipal Veterinary Officer, JMC to provide best facilities to the animals at the Centre and keep the premises neat and clean.
The Mayor also conducted plantation drive in the Centre premises.
