JAMMU, Jan 20: A wild animal resembling a deer was found dead in a forest area of Panchayat Janglote under mysterious circumstances. The villagers found it few days back in injured condition as the animal was hit by some hunter mysteriously.
The important and valuable body parts like horns are missing from the animal’s body. The local villagers spotted the half body of the deer. A team of Wild Life Sanctuary led by Range Officer Wild Life Sanctuary Kathua, Joginder Pal Gupta reached on the spot to ascertain the cause of the death of the animal. He said that if the animal was hunted by someone he will be punished under law.
However the team has started the investigation into matter. It is mentioned here that due to cold weather some wild animals are coming down to populated area and become easier prey of hunters.
