JAMMU, Jan 20: Bus Stand police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 57 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bus Stand Police Station led by SHO Inspector Pankaj Sharma conducted raid at a rehari and seized 57 kilograms of poppy straw concealed in apple boxes.
The team also arrested two persons along with the consignment, who were identified as Tarsem Lal, son of Munshi Ram of Pangaidi Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu and Mukesh Kumar, son of Bodh Raj of Akhnoor District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 4/2020 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Bus Stand Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
