JAMMU, July 2: An old woman died while her husband was seriously injured in a road accident near Ghagwal on Jammu -Pathankot National Highway today.
The accident took place at the time when the couple was coming towards Ghagwal riding on a scooty and as they reached near Tapyal the scooty collided with the army vehicle and both were seriously injured.
With the help of local people and police, they were brought to District Hospital Samba (DHS) where the woman succumbed to her injuries. Her husband was referred to Medical College and Hospital Jammu after first aid. After the post-mortem of the woman, the body was handed over to the relatives for the last rites. The deceased has been identified as Chintapurni (65), wife of Nanak Chand and the injured person has been identified as Nanak Chand (70) resident of Panthal, Hiranagar Kathua. The police has registered a case in this regard and has started investigation.
