SRINAGAR: Widespread rain and snow would occur during the next 24 hours in the Kashmir Valley, where authorities have issued avalanche warning in upper reaches following heavy snowfall during the past 24 hours.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan said widespread rains and snow has been forecast in Kashmir Division for the next three days. There is forecast of widespread rain and snow with isolated and fairly widespread heavy snowfall tomorrow, widespread rain and snow with scattered heavy falls on January 26, and fairly widespread to isolated rain and snow from January 27-28, he said.
Mr Khan said all the Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Division have been asked to take necessary precautionary measures in their respective districts. According to Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, avalanche warning was issued for higher reaches and avalanche-prone areas of Kupwara valid from this evening to January 28. (AGENCIES)
