White Knight Corps celebrates Raising Day

JAMMU,  June 1:  The White Knight Corps celebrated its 47th Raising Day  here today.
GOC of the Corps,  Lt Gen  Saranjeet Singh  complimented all ranks for their outstanding contribution in maintaining vigil on the Line of Control and ensuring peace and tranquility in the region. He exhorted all troops to persist with same zeal and enthusiasm towards their profession to achieve new milestones.
A solemn wreath laying ceremony was conducted with full military honours. GOC, White Knight Corps paid floral tributes to the martyrs at “Ashwamedh Shaurya Sthal” in the early hours of the day.
White Knight Corps was raised on  June 1, 1972 on the banks of Tawi River at Nagrota. In the last four decades since its raising, the Corps has grown from strength to become operationally amongst the most vibrant force of the Indian Army. The Corps is operationally committed in pursuit of guarding and maintaining the sanctity of the Line of Control and combating militancy. It is also actively involved in various developmental programmes for the people in the region.
The GOC, while interacting with the troops of Nagrota Garrison through a special Sainik Sammelan exhorted all ranks of the White Knight Corps to continue doing the assigned task in a professional manner and to keep the flag of the formation, flying high.
