NEW DELHI, Feb 22: Wheat and rice basmati prices fell up to Rs 200 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on sluggish demand against adequate stocks position.
Traders said sluggish demand against adequate stocks position on increased arrivals from producing regions mainly kept pressure on wheat and rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) declined by Rs 10 to Rs 1,630-1,635 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,635-1,640 per 90 kg. Atta flour mills shed Rs 10 to Rs 870-890.
In the rice section, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety also eased by Rs 200 each to Rs 8,300-9,000 and Rs 7,500-9,100 per quintal respectively.
